Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm

I was shopping at Target last weekend, and decided to purchase the Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in the color Forbidden.  The reason I purchased this was because it was on sale for $2.98.  At that price, I figured I couldn't go wrong.  They had some other lighter colors that were more pink, but I really liked this color better than the others that were on sale.  It is a really nice color.  This product has the lip stain on one end, and just a clear balm on the other end.  I took several pictures in different lighting so you could see it in bright light and in dim light. If I am going to be completely honest about the product, then I would say that I didn't really care for the feeling of it being applied.  The applicator wasn't smooth to me.  It gave my lips this weird tickle and was a little rough going on until I used the balm side to make it shine.  I applied one coat and then applied a second coat once it dried.  And like I said previously, I put the balm on after applying the color.   It did last for a couple of hours, but it didn't have a strong staying power.

This is the description from the Revlon website:
This unique 2-in-1 gives you kiss-proof color with soft shine and a nourishing balm for supreme comfort.

Some of the characteristics of this balm stain are as follows:
-Unique 2-in-1 lipstain and balm
-Kiss-proof color with soft shine
-Nourishing balm for supreme comfort
-Lightweight feel

It does like nice on the lips as you can see in the pictures below, but I prefer the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain.  I just like the way it goes on smoothly instead of a little rough like this one did.  That is just my opinion.  I would like to hear other's opinions on the two products.  Feel free to leave a comment below if you have used either one or both of these Revlon lip products.

Like I stated above, I purchased this particular color on sale for $2.98.  The regular price was $7.99.  I got a pretty good deal.  Your local store may have some of the colors on sale as well! You never know until you check it out! So, go out to your local Target, and purchase this wonderful product by Revlon so you can tell all what you think of it!  You can also purchase it at places like Ulta, Walmart, local grocery store or drugstore that sells Revlon products (I can't guarantee a sale price.)

Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I recently purchased my first Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the color - 005 Crush.  It would be wonderful for your Valentine's Day look.  I absolutely adore this color.  It is beautiful.  I took several pictures in different lighting so you could see it in bright light and in dim light.  It goes on very smoothly.  You do not have to use a lot to get the full effect of the color.  Also, it lasts for hours.  I put it on in the early afternoon, and I didn't have to reapply it until late evening.

This is the description from the Revlon website:
It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood.
Some of the characteristics of this balm stain are as follows:
-Lightweight Lipstain + Moisturizing Balm
-100% of women who tried it felt their lips were instantly moisturized with a soft stain of color
-Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required

All of the colors that are available are also very lovely.  I purchased this at my local grocery store and they had an in-store coupon for $3 off of any product over $5.  The regular price was a little over $7, so with my coupon, I got this for around $4. Your local store may have an in-store coupon available!  You never know until you check it out!  So, go out to your local drugstore, Target, Walmart or grocery store and purchase this wonderful product by Revlon!

Target - Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection Haul

I know this is late, but I just wanted to share what I bought from the Target - Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection back in December.  I actually did not pay full price when I purchased these items (I paid 50% off), so that made me feel better when they went to 75% off in January.  Overall, this collection was considered a huge flop/failure....whatever you want to call it, but I managed to purchase a few things. (Note:  the prices listed were MSRP.)

The first item:

Carolina Herrera for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection – Travel Bags, $39.99

The second item:

Marc Jacobs for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection – Pouch in Gunmetal, $69.99 each

And the third and final item:

Prabal Gurung for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection – Clutch, $49.99

I really liked all three of these pieces.  I was interested in the Oscar de la Renta tote, but I didn't really care that much for the cream color of the canvas.  For that reason, I decided not to purchase it.  From my understanding these items were all pulled from the stores in mid January.  I read somewhere that Target donates their clearance items to the Salvation Army or other "thrift shop" type of store in the surrounding communities of their stores.  I haven't checked any of the local thrift shops to see if I could locate more items for a great price.  I'm not even sure if they would have done the same thing with these items since they were part of a Neiman Marcus collection.  They may send them to the Neiman's discount store - Last Call or possibly the Neiman Marcus outlet stores.  Those are a few places you may want to try if you would like to purchase items from this collection.  I do know that there are plenty of sellers on eBay that have items up for sale.

More Maybelline Baby Lips

I absolutely love the tinted Maybelline Baby Lips moisturizing lip balms!  I got addicted after using just one.  I've been on the hunt for all of them.  These three are in the colors Cherry Me, Grape Vine and Peach Kiss.  They are lovely colors.  These lip balms are tinted, but they are not like too tinted.  They just give you a little bit of color and make your lips feel amazing!  I've been buying mine at a local grocery store (HEB) and they almost always have an in-store coupon for either $1 or $2 off.  When I bought these, I used $1 off coupons.  I only paid about $2 for each.  This is part of a description of the lip balms that I read online:
Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm:
  • Moisturizing lip balm with SPF 20 sunscreen
  • Gives eight hour moisture plus lip renewal
  • It's clinical care for baby soft lips
  • Available in 2 clear or 4 tinted shades
Check out your local stores for these wonderful lip balms!

I Love Maybelline's Baby Lips in Yummy Plummy

I purchased this Baby Lips - moisturizing lip balm by Maybelline about two weeks ago.  I've been using it and it really does help keep my lips moisturized in the Winter temps and just in general.  I only apply it a couple of times a day.  It seems to last for a while and the tinted color is nice.  It goes nicely with my olive color skin.  It is kind of light, but not too light.  It goes on nicely, and it didn't cake up in the corners of my mouth.

You can see the color better in the pictures below.  I have included a few pictures of it swatched on my hand and one picture of it actually on my lips.  I would buy this product again.  It is reasonably priced and the store where I purchased it at had a $1.00 off coupon.  I only paid $2 for it.  They had a couple of other colors in stock, but they colors didn't seem like they fit me very well.

NYC City's Clear (574) Liquid Lipshine

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

I received the NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine from Influenster for being a "Brand Challenge" winner for the 2012 Latina VoxBox that was sent to me by Influenster (www.Influenster.com). The product was complimentary to test and review. The product information/review page on the Influenster website states the following about the NYC New York Color (the brand) and the Liquid Lipshine: NYC New York Color offers products with uptown style at down-to-earth prices, from $.99 - $4.99. The energy, style and color of New York City shines through the wide range of shades, textures and innovative products. NYC always delivers the most on-trend products & shades hot off the runway! It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias.

You can find the whole color pallete on the NYC New York Color website. The available shades are as follows:

To use the Liquid Lip Shine, take the tip of the applicator to line and define lips. Once you have done that, fill your lips in with the color. It is a very easy to use product. I personally liked the applicator since it is a wand. The Liquid Lip Shine is not goopy and sticky like some others I have used. It goes on very nicely leaving your lips very soft and with plenty of shine. I used this all alone and on top of a colored lipstick with great results. In my experience, it lasted for a long time, and I didn't have to keep reapplying it over and over. The shade that I received was City's Clear (574). This color was is just a standard clear gloss and will go with anyone's skin tone.  It is very shinny, so if you don't want a lot of shine, then you might only want to use just a dab or opt for another gloss altogether.  I personally like some shinny gloss every now and then.  The only thing that would have made me like it even more is if it was flavored. I absolutely love flavored and scented glosses.

The package that I received contained one 0.24 fl oz Liquid Lip Shine and it had a great price point. The suggested retail price is $2.49. You can't beat a great Liquid Lip Shine Lip Gloss for under $2.50. I wish more drugstore type of brands were on point with their prices. I thank NYC New York Color for thinking about those that are on a budget or those that simply do not want to pay over $10 for a lipgloss.
You can start shopping for NYC at these stores nearest you: Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB and others. Please visit www.newyorkcolor.com to check out all of the products from New York Color!

Small haul from Bath and Body Works

Here is a small, cute haul from Bath and Body Works (I don't know if 3 items is considered a haul!).  Anyway, I got one of the new, very cute, Spring room sprays in the Bahama Fizz scent!  The packaging is so cute, I don't know what else to say about it.  They have several room sprays that are bird themed.  The scents are Bahama Fizz, Peach Bellini, Island Margarita, Beach Cabana, and Tiki Beach.  They are all great smelling and have adorable packaging.  You can find them on this page:
Concentrated Room Sprays or in your local stores.  I also got a free preview sized lotion of one of their new three scents.  My son got the other one for me.  Bath and Body Works has a coupon offer on Facebook to get a free preview sized lotion this weekend only.  You have to accept the offer on Facebook and they email you a coupon to the email address that you used to sign up for Facebook.  Go to the Bath and Body Works facebook page to find the offer if it wasn't posted to your wall on Friday (that would only be if you "liked" their page on Facebook).  You can go to the page to  find the offer even if you didn't "like" their page.   I also, purchased the new Renew and Refresh scented Home Fragrance Oil (HFO), but it is not in the picture because I already put it to use in the family room!  I love it.  You must try it!  I believe that you will love it, too!
