I Love Maybelline's Baby Lips in Yummy Plummy

I purchased this Baby Lips - moisturizing lip balm by Maybelline about two weeks ago.  I've been using it and it really does help keep my lips moisturized in the Winter temps and just in general.  I only apply it a couple of times a day.  It seems to last for a while and the tinted color is nice.  It goes nicely with my olive color skin.  It is kind of light, but not too light.  It goes on nicely, and it didn't cake up in the corners of my mouth.

You can see the color better in the pictures below.  I have included a few pictures of it swatched on my hand and one picture of it actually on my lips.  I would buy this product again.  It is reasonably priced and the store where I purchased it at had a $1.00 off coupon.  I only paid $2 for it.  They had a couple of other colors in stock, but they colors didn't seem like they fit me very well.

NYC City's Clear (574) Liquid Lipshine

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

I received the NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine from Influenster for being a "Brand Challenge" winner for the 2012 Latina VoxBox that was sent to me by Influenster (www.Influenster.com). The product was complimentary to test and review. The product information/review page on the Influenster website states the following about the NYC New York Color (the brand) and the Liquid Lipshine: NYC New York Color offers products with uptown style at down-to-earth prices, from $.99 - $4.99. The energy, style and color of New York City shines through the wide range of shades, textures and innovative products. NYC always delivers the most on-trend products & shades hot off the runway! It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias.

You can find the whole color pallete on the NYC New York Color website. The available shades are as follows:

To use the Liquid Lip Shine, take the tip of the applicator to line and define lips. Once you have done that, fill your lips in with the color. It is a very easy to use product. I personally liked the applicator since it is a wand. The Liquid Lip Shine is not goopy and sticky like some others I have used. It goes on very nicely leaving your lips very soft and with plenty of shine. I used this all alone and on top of a colored lipstick with great results. In my experience, it lasted for a long time, and I didn't have to keep reapplying it over and over. The shade that I received was City's Clear (574). This color was is just a standard clear gloss and will go with anyone's skin tone.  It is very shinny, so if you don't want a lot of shine, then you might only want to use just a dab or opt for another gloss altogether.  I personally like some shinny gloss every now and then.  The only thing that would have made me like it even more is if it was flavored. I absolutely love flavored and scented glosses.

The package that I received contained one 0.24 fl oz Liquid Lip Shine and it had a great price point. The suggested retail price is $2.49. You can't beat a great Liquid Lip Shine Lip Gloss for under $2.50. I wish more drugstore type of brands were on point with their prices. I thank NYC New York Color for thinking about those that are on a budget or those that simply do not want to pay over $10 for a lipgloss.
You can start shopping for NYC at these stores nearest you: Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB and others. Please visit www.newyorkcolor.com to check out all of the products from New York Color!

Small haul from Bath and Body Works

Here is a small, cute haul from Bath and Body Works (I don't know if 3 items is considered a haul!).  Anyway, I got one of the new, very cute, Spring room sprays in the Bahama Fizz scent!  The packaging is so cute, I don't know what else to say about it.  They have several room sprays that are bird themed.  The scents are Bahama Fizz, Peach Bellini, Island Margarita, Beach Cabana, and Tiki Beach.  They are all great smelling and have adorable packaging.  You can find them on this page:
Concentrated Room Sprays or in your local stores.  I also got a free preview sized lotion of one of their new three scents.  My son got the other one for me.  Bath and Body Works has a coupon offer on Facebook to get a free preview sized lotion this weekend only.  You have to accept the offer on Facebook and they email you a coupon to the email address that you used to sign up for Facebook.  Go to the Bath and Body Works facebook page to find the offer if it wasn't posted to your wall on Friday (that would only be if you "liked" their page on Facebook).  You can go to the page to  find the offer even if you didn't "like" their page.   I also, purchased the new Renew and Refresh scented Home Fragrance Oil (HFO), but it is not in the picture because I already put it to use in the family room!  I love it.  You must try it!  I believe that you will love it, too!

Cute Conair Head Wraps/Bands

I was shopping last week and came across these cute Conair head wraps/bands.  They are plastic and have an elastic part at the bottom of the head wrap/band.  They are comfortable.  I've tried them once, but didn't get a picture.  I still wanted to share them with you.  They were around $5.  Give them a try, you might like them!  If you don't, then you won't lose out on much money!

I hope you are able to tell what they look like in the pictures.  The first two are black and the last one is like a metal color.

Final Bath and Body Works SAS Hauls

I know the Bath and Body Works SAS is over, but I still wanted to share more of what I purchased.  The picture below is a combination of a couple of hauls from the same day, but from two stores.  I was able to find many good things!  I was absolutely loving it.  I was waiting for the sale to get a little better.....like prices going from 50% off to 75% off, but it wasn't happening so I decided that I needed to go ahead and make some more purchases while they still had some good items.

The picture below was the last haul that I actually took pictures of...I had some other items, but I had already put them away since they were small hauls and I knew exactly where I was storing those items.  In this picture, I never did get around to spreading this stuff out for view.  I was able to get some good buys.  Many of the items in the bags were 75% off.  I hope that you all that went to the sale were able to find some good buys!

I'm going to try my best to not purchase many more things from Bath and Body Works (especially body care), but we will see how that goes.  I've been giving a lot as gifts lately!  I just sent my sister in law a box full of goodies for her birthday!  See pic below!

Favorite Drugstore Products for the Face

The first product I would like to share as one of my favorites is the Purpose brand Dual Treatment Moisture Lotion with SPF15.  I tend to get dry patches on my face especially during the Winter months.  My husband and my husband also get dry facial skin in the Winter.  My son and I have been using this gentle, dermatologist recommended lotion for a while now.  It provides long-lasting moisture just like the package says.  It is oil free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic.  It is a great product for you to try if you have sensitive skin and if other lotions with fragrance irritate your skin. I just use a small amount and rub it in my whole face.  It absorbs quickly and does not leave a greasy feeling.  I like that it leaves my face soft and smooth.  This is about $8 at your local retail store such as Target or Walmart.

The second product for the face that I would like to share with  you is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes (Pink Grapefruit scent for acne-prone skin).  I really do not have acne-prone skin, but I just love the way this wipe cleans my face.  These wipes do not dry my face out as much as other brands and types.  After using these, you can either just go or you can rinse your face off.  I usually just go and put a little bit of the Purpose brand lotion on my face (the one I mentioned above).  The smell is also pleasant.  These contain 100% naturally derived pink grapefruit extract.  There are 25 towelettes in this particular package.  They cost around $7 at your local retail store such as Target or Walmart.  They do make an imitation brands, but I like to stick to the original, name brand ones.  I think they are not as harsh as the imitation brands.

This last product that I am sharing with you is the Nad's brand Facial Wax Strips.  I've tried several brands of facial strips, and this one works really well.  I have used them on my own face, as well as  other family members.  My son let me use them on him to do in between the brows.  We have dark hair and he claims he was starting to get a uni brow, so we used this on him.  The wax strips worked like a charm on him, and they worked just as well on me. They are easy to use and there is little to no clean up.  These are hypoallergenic and fragrance free for sensitive delicate areas.  My son and I have sensitive skin, and these strips did not irritate us at all.  It takes less than a couple of minutes to use and be done with them.  I highly recommend them to anyone.  You can find them in your local retail stores such as Target or Walmart.  They will cost you around $5.

I hope that you will go out and try these products.  They really are a few of my favorites, and I would not recommend them if I did not think that others would enjoy them, as well.  I have included the links to each respective brand's website  below:

Bath and Body Works SAS

The Bath and Body Works Semi Annual Sale (SAS) started on December 26, 2012, and it will end on January 13, 2013.  I went the first couple of days and then I went, yesterday while I was at the mall.  This sale seems like it does not have as many great finds as in the past.  There were hardly any candles and I was really looking forward to finding some Fall candles like Pumpkin Cupcake or Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.  I didn't find any of those, but I did pick up several other ones that I like.  Also, during this sale, they brought back the Aromatherapy Black Chamomile in Body Lotion and Body Wash.  They also brought back Warm Milk and Honey in Body Lotion and Body Wash just for the sale.  I passed on that though because it smelled a lot like the Aromatherapy Vanilla Cinnamon from the 2011 holiday collection, and I still have some of that.  I told myself that I was going to not buy much body care items and focus more on home fragrance.  Besides the Aromatherapy items, I think I have done a pretty good job of focusing on home fragrance.

If you go to the sale now, there probably won't be as good of a selection as there was the first week.  Now, it is kind of the stuff people either don't won't or they are waiting for it to go to 75% off.  I am still waiting on a few things that I have seen in store to go 75% off.  They have been in the 50% off bins since the start of the sale, and they are still there, so hopefully, they will be reduced soon!

Here is a picture of what I had bought up to this past weekend.  I know it looks like a lot, but a lot will be gifts for all occasions.

I have gone back and bought more stuff, but I haven't taken a picture of those hauls, yet.  I may go again to see if there are any new 75% off items, but I really don't need anything else.  I'm just a sucker for a sale.  I hope that all of you have gotten some great buys.  On a side note, Victoria's Secret is also having their Semi Annual Sale right now.  Hollister and A&F are having great Winter sales, too.
